William Parry James (c1818-1883), County Surveyor at Monmouth

1883 Died. 'The death of Mr W. P. James, surveyor to the county of Monmouth, took place at Cardiff yesterday. Deceased was 65 of age, and succumbed to paralysis. He succeeded his father in the appointment many years ago. He also held the position of surveyor of ecclesiastical dilapidations for the Archdeaconry of Monmouth. The deceased took great interest in his work as surveyor of the county of Monmouth, but of late had to obtain constant assistance from his partners.'[1]
