William Pendlebury (1841-1913)

1913 May 13th. Died. 'The death is announced at Mahableswar, Bombay Presidency, of Mr. William Pendlebury, of Secunderabad, Deccan, who was about seventy years of age. Mr. Pendlebury had held for many years responsible administrative positions on Indian railway systems, and at the time of his death was agent and manager of H. H. Nizam's Guaranteed State Railways. He was born in the North of England, and received his early training on the London and North Western Railway. He went to India in 1866, and joined the Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway as assistant traffic manager. In 1885, after the Nizam's State Railway had been reconstructed and enlarged, Mr. Pendlebury was transferred to that system, and in 1880 succeeded Mr. Furnivall as agent and manager.'[1]
