Sir William B. Richmond R.A.

Best known for his work on the mosaics which can be found in the quire of St Paul’s Cathedral in London; as a result of his artistic career he became a fellow of the Royal Academy. He also wrote to Times speaking of the horrific effects of air pollution and the lack of regulation.

1898 He founded the Coal Smoke Abatement Society and became its first president

1899 Sir William Richmond was closely associated with the Coal Smoke Abatement Society.
