William Russell (c.1833-1908)

1908 Died. 'The death took place on Monday 21 College Gardens, Belfast, of Mr. William Russell, ex-president of the Linen Merchants’ Association. Mr. Russell was in his 76th year, and of late his health had been poor. On Sunday he took a change for the worse and passed away next day. He was connected with the firm of Messrs. A. & S. Henry for over fifty years, and 1888, when the concern became a limited company became one of the managing directors. In 1895 he was appointed president of the Linen Merchants’ Association, and there were few better known men in the trade in the city. The deceased was member of Elmwood Presbyterian Church, and leaves widow, two sons, and three daughters mourn his loss.'[1]
