Wishaw and Coltness Railway

From Graces Guide

Planned to be called the Garion and Garturk Railway the Wishaw and Coltness Railway was sanctioned in 1829 and it was a 11 mile line between Chapeel and the Monkland and Kirkintilloch Railway near Gartsherrie. It opened partly in 1833 on a gauge of 4ft 6ins and was fully opened in 1844.

In 1849 it became part of the Caledonian Railway
