1893 The supply of electricity for lighting purposes, supplied by the Yorkshire House-to-House Electricity Company, was formally inaugurated on Wednesday by the Mayor of Leeds. The works have cost £27,000, exclusive of land.[1]

1898 The Whitehall Road Power Station and distribution business were acquired by Leeds Corporation - see City of Leeds Electricity Department.
