- Sheradise, -ize - to coat with zinc by heating with zinc-dust in absence of air [from Sherard Cowper-Coles, the inventor of the process] [3]. Zinc powder is vapourised and pressurised in a sealed chamber with the product, so that the zinc is forced into the surface of the metal [4].
