1768 The "Butler" trademark was registered by the Cutlers Company.
1825 G. and J. Butler were knife manufacturers and cutlery dealers in Trinity Street<ref>1825 General & Commercial Directory of Sheffield</ref>
c.1833 [[James Bramall (1812-1887)|James Bramall]] was appointed file manager
1914 Manufacturers of cutlery and electro-plate. Specialities: "Cavendish" cutlery and electro-plate, cabinets and cases of cutlery and plate, presentation outfits, prizes for sports, spoons and forks, fish and dessert sets, wedding and Christmas presents etc.<ref>[[1914 Whitakers Red Book]]</ref>
