Emanuel Buxtorf ( born 2 September 1823 at Saint-Martin-ès-Vignes, died 14 January 1904 at Troyes
1850 Manger of Mathos-Durand in Troyes.
1853 Established a hosiery machine construction company. Sold in 1896 to Georges Lebocey.
1853 - 1893 Carried out research was responsible for numerous patents mainly related to improvements in hosiery production.
He founded the French Hosiery School in Troyes in 1888. It functioned until 1964 as a private school recognized by the State before becoming the BTS hosiery section of the technical high school in Troyes.
