1853 The company was founded as Kenyon and Son as a producer of confectionery, jam and pickles.
1864 Company established.
1891 Incorporated as a limited company, Kenyon, Son and Craven.
1914 Manufacturers of jams, marmalade, pickles, sauce, candied peel and all kinds of confectionery. Specialities: preserves made form English fruit and refined sugar only; jelly marmalade, mincemeat and lemon curd. [1]
1948 Simon Heller took over the company, and it then switched to producing roasted and salted hazelnuts, expanding to peanuts later. These were originally produced for sale in cinemas.
1952 The company introduced Hercules Nuts.
1953 The KP Nuts peanut brand was introduced.
1964-66 The company doubled its production size.
1968 The company became part of United Biscuits and merged in to Meredith and Drew
