A 40 MW coal-fired power station serving the city of York, located in the Layerthorpe area of the city.

1890s The station was built by York Corporation

1900 The station opened

1929 The power station was selected for the Mid-East England Electricity Scheme[1]

1976 The station closed on 25 October 1976.
