Animal Food
The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Carnation Company of America whose extensive interests in human and animal foods include the manufacture and sale of complete dry pet foods. It was decided to develop this relatively neglected sector of the United Kingdom market, using the expertise of the parent company and relying in the first instance on imports from the United States and from an associated company in France.
Go-Cat was introduced in 1970 and Go-Dog in 1973.
A plant to manufacture the products in Britain was established at Worksop, Nottinghamshire, and came into operation in November 1975.
