THOMAS GIBBON was born at Pendleton, near Manchester, on 25th November 1881, and was educated at local schools.
He served his apprenticeship with Messrs. Nasmyth Wilson, of Patricroft, Manchester, and on completion of his term spent some years with Messrs. Cole, Marchent and Morley as draughtsman.
Subsequently he was engaged by Messrs. Galloways, Ltd., of the Knott Mill Iron Works, Manchester, as chief draughtsman, and this position he held at the date of his death, which occurred on 20th December 1924, at the age of forty-three.
He was elected an Associate Member of this Institution in 1920.
