1890 Called to the Bar by the Inner Temple. For twelve years he practiced as a barrister at the Surrey Sessions and on the South-Eastern Circuit. | |||
1902-1905 Assistant librarian at the House of Commons, following which he became secretary to the [[Railway Companies' Association]]. At this time he combined his secretarial duties with a lectureship on railway law and history at the [[London School of Economics]]. | |||

William Temple Franks (c1863-1926) from the office of Comptroller-General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks

1888 Made a Stowel Law Fellow of University College in his forteith year.
