WILLIAM GEORGE LOUDON STUART FORBES, whose death occurred in 1945, at the age of eighty-eight, was chief engineer of H.M. Mint, Calcutta for several years and was one of the oldest Members of the Institution, his election dating back to 1882.
After serving a seven years' apprenticeship with Messrs. James Watt and Company of Soho, Birmingham, he proceeded to India, where the whole of his professional career was spent.
