William Garrow Straehan was born in 1883 and apprenticed with [[C. E. Middleton and Co|C. E. Middleton and Co.]], Aberdeen (afterwards amalgamated with [[Claud Hamilton|Claud Hamilton, Ltd.]]) Following his apprenticeship he continued in the service of Claud Hamilton, Ltd., until 1914, when he started in business on his own account as Automobile Engineer, specializing in magneto, carburettor, dynamo and starter repairs and adjustments.

William Garrow Straehan was born in 1883 and apprenticed with C. E. Middleton and Co., Aberdeen (afterwards amalgamated with Claud Hamilton, Ltd.) Following his apprenticeship he continued in the service of Claud Hamilton, Ltd., until 1914, when he started in business on his own account as Automobile Engineer, specializing in magneto, carburettor, dynamo and starter repairs and adjustments.

In 1918 he took up an appointment as Assistant Lecturer in the Engineering Department of Robert Gordon's Technical College.

He died in December, 1943, at the age of 61.

He was elected an Associate in 592o.
