"FREDERICK TREMAYNE LANE was educated at the Merchant Venturers' Technical College, and at the University at Bristol. After serving an apprenticeship with the engineer of the [[Bristol Docks]], from 1910 to 1913, he was for a brief period a draughtsman under the Hon. R. C. Parsons, at 39 Victoria Street, Westminster, S.W.
During the war of 1914-18 he was engaged as a supervisor in the mechanical engineering department of the Royal Arsenal at Woolwich.
Subsequently, he was works manager for [[Cubist Motor Cars|Messrs. Cubist Motor Cars, Ltd]]., before joining [[Williams and Williams|Messrs. Williams and Williams, Ltd]]., of Chester, metal window manufacturers, in May 1925. After acting as works manager for seven years, he took over the duties of Scottish sales manager, a position he retained until his death, which occurred on 13th September 1949. Mr. Lane had been an Associate Member of the Institution since 1918."

"FREDERICK TREMAYNE LANE was educated at the Merchant Venturers' Technical College, and at the University at Bristol. After serving an apprenticeship with the engineer of the Bristol Docks, from 1910 to 1913, he was for a brief period a draughtsman under the Hon. R. C.
