"JOHN RICHARDSON MOORE, who was born in 1902, received his education at the Grammar School and Technical College in Keighley. After serving his apprenticeship from 1919 to 1923 in the same town with Messrs. Smith and Paget, Ltd., makers of laundry and agricultural machinery, he continued in that firm's employment as a junior draughtsman for a further two years.
He was then made manager of the laundry machinery department, and in 1928 was appointed works manager. After holding this position for eight years he joined the staff of the Co-operative Wholesale Society's Ironworks at Keighley as assistant manager. He was promoted to the post of manager a year later and held this appointment until his death which occurred in September 1948. Mr. Moore had been an Associate Member of the Institution since 1935."
