Canal aqueduct and a parallel railway viaduct over the River Dulais
Aberdulais Tinworks and Waterfall are a short distance upstream.
1876 'ABERDYLAIS. The water from the river rose to such an extraordinary height that it passed over the canal aqueduct, the arches being quite unable to take the immense volume of water which poured down the Dylais river. All the houses in the lower grounds were inundated, and the gardens completely ruined. No accdent to life has been reported from the district.'[1]
