ISRAEL WILLIAMS died in Nicaragua in September 1894. His first appointment was with the [Ebbw Vale Co|Ebbw Vale Company]] at their collieries and works at Pontypool.
In 1863 he was appointed manager of the Blaendare furnaces, Pontypool, where he continued to make cold blast pig iron, the Pontypool brand being highly esteemed. He subsequently introduced the manufacture of spiegeleisen, and very largely increased the output of the furnaces.
In 1873, the late Mr. William Menelaus offered him the post of general manager of the Forest Iron and Steel Works, Treforest, Glamorganshire. There he continued until 1878, when he accepted the appointment of manager of the Ebbw Vale Works.
