EDWARD RICE DANIEL died at his residence, Cwmgelly, near Swansea, on November 13, 1905, in his seventy-sixth year. He was formerly connected with Messrs. Vivian's Collieries, and at one time controlled the colliery of the [[Cwmfelin Steel and Tinplate Works|Cwmfelin Tinplate Company]]. He was for twenty years managing director of the Cwmfelin Tinplate Works, which, under his management, became one of the largest concerns of its kind in the country. | |||

EDWARD RICE DANIEL died at his residence, Cwmgelly, near Swansea, on November 13, 1905, in his seventy-sixth year. He was formerly connected with Messrs. Vivian's Collieries, and at one time controlled the colliery of the Cwmfelin Tinplate Company. He was for twenty years managing director of the Cwmfelin Tinplate Works, which, under his management, became one of the largest concerns of its kind in the country.
He collaborated with his brother-in-law, Sir John Jones Jenkins, and with Mr. D. R. David and Mr. J. H. Rogers, in creating the Board of Control, an organisation the functions of which were subsequently discharged by the Conciliation Board.
