1951 Racal Aerotronics was established as a subsidiary of Racal Electronics to build equipment for electronics instrumentation.
Later the name was changed to Racal Instruments
1969 Racal sold its Airmec-AEI subsidiary to Plessey Co, reflecting government policy to encourage consolidation in numerical controls. Airmec Instruments remained a part of Racal Instruments[1].
