SIDNEY MORETON HALL was born in 1901 and received his education at the Manchester College of Technology. After serving his apprenticeship with the Electro Bleach and By-Products Company, Ltd., of Middlewich, from 1918 to 1922, he was employed for four years in the drawing offices of Messrs. Joseph Parks and Son, Northwich, and Messrs. Moreland, Hayne and Company, London.
From 1928 to 1936 he was designer and detailer to Messrs. Banister, Walton and Company, constructional engineers, of Westminster, for whom he was in charge of design and details of steel frame buildings. In 1936 he joined the staff of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway, at St. Pancras, where he was employed in a similar capacity, with responsibility for his own designs.
Mr. Hall, whose death occurred on 5th April 1945 as the result of an accident during the course of his duties, was elected a Graduate of the Institution in 1919 and was transferred to Associate Membership in 1939.
