1884 Company was incorporated to construct a light railway.
1885 This line was opened for traffic. It was supplied with power from a hydro-electric station; the electrical machinery was manufactured by Mather and Platt of Manchester.
1908 The line is 3 miles in length, and is worked by electricity. [1]
