A remarkable earthenware jug of very large size, with a silver lustre glaze, is on display at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. It is said to be one of about a dozen made c.1810-30 for a king in Calabar, west Africa, but this was was not sent because of a flaw which arose during firing.
