1885 the North London Tramways Co started to use steam engines to pull trams. The company had 25 engines made by Merryweather and Dick, Kerr and Co; they hauled long-wheelbase trailers made by Falcon Engine and Car Works.
1891 Acquired by the North Metropolitan Tramways Co
