- 1928 Company founded by L. G. Harris as the Midland Trading Co, which bought and re-sold paint brushes.
- 1930 The company re-located and commenced manufacture of three sizes of paint brushes.
- 1933 The Midland Trading Co became L. G. Harris and Co Ltd.
- 1936 Success and expansion brought relocation to Stoke Prior, on the edge of Bromsgrove.
- 1947 Further rapid expansion necessitated the development of larger factory premises, on a 60 acre site, three miles away.
- 1951 The first overseas branch was opened.
- 1953 Paint rollers, which originated in America, began to be produced.
- 1961 Awarded the Royal Warrant.
- 1962 Began to manufacture paint scrapers.
- 1965 Introduced Household brushed and brooms.
- 1969 Opened a factory in Ceylon (now Sri Lanka).
- 1974 Expanded in the UK with a new warehouse and despatch area.
