Established in 1855 by George S. Yates. The following were Partners in the firm Jackson, 1874 to 1903, Ellis K. Yates from 1888, and Harold E. Jackson, 1898 to 1903.
1914 Present Principal: Ellis K. Yates. Contractors to the War Office during the South African War, 1900-1902 for Plug Tobacco for the use of the troops. Agencies: Hamburg, Paris, and Bordeaux. Speciality: Leaf Tobacco for West Africa.
