  • 1872 'To be Sold by private treaty, the ALBERT MILL, Crawford-street, .... with 40 horse steam engine, by Petrie; 50-horse boiler, and Green's warming apparatus; also all the cotton machinery therein, consisting of scutchers, carding engines, drawing frames, slubbing frames, roving frames, and 6,300 mule spindles, twist guage, all in good condition and now at work. The mill is situate on the side of the canal, five minutes' walk of the Rochdale Railway station. ....'[1]
