The first Burton's biscuits were baked by George Burton (born 1829, Leek, Staffordshire), who began production on Corporation Street, Blackpool, Lancashire.

2000 Merged with Horizon Biscuit Co to form Burton's Foods. The combined group had factories in Blackpool, Llantarnam in Cwmbran, South Wales, Edinburgh, Scotland, Moreton, Merseyside and Victoria Street, St Albans.
2001 Burton's Biscuits Ltd was renamed ABF Grocery Ltd but the company was not trading.
