'MR CYRIL LEADER a former well-known footwear manufacturer and magistrate died suddenly at his home The Crest Shilton Road Barwell yesterday...A Leicester born man, Mr Leader who was 74 moved to Barwell at an early age and he and his father, Mr Harry Leader, started the family business, [[H. Leader and Co| H. Leader and Co Ltd]] in Chapel Street in 1914... On the death of Mr. Leader, senior, his son became managing director of the business.
