1983 Northern Telecom Ltd was incorporated, a subsidiary of Bell Canada Entreprises Inc

1987 ITT sold its remaining 24 percent stake in STC to Northern Telecom of Canada. Northern Telecom agreed to sell 40 percent of its British arm, Northern Telecom plc, to STC.[1]

1988 Northern Telecom plc was acquired by STC and renamed STC Communications and Information Systems Ltd

1991 Northern Telecom of Canada acquired STC.[2]
