The Airdrie Iron Co of Standard Works, Airdrie were general engineers.
1860 Company established.
1869 Built first railway locomotive.
1905 Incorporated as a Limited Company. Manufacturers of colliery plant, pumps, air compressors, locomotives, tube-making machinery and general ironfoundry. Employees 250. [1]
1913 The works closed after building twenty to thirty locomotives.
