We have to announce the sudden death of Mr. Richard Williamson, C.E. , who travelled from Ireland only last week to attend tho inquiry into the Londonderry Port and Harbour Bill before the Select Committee of the House of Lords, of which Lord Beauchamp was chairman. Mr. Williamson had been retained professionally to advise the opponents of the bill, the Hon. the Irish Society and the Foyle and Benn Fishery Company. Whilst landing from the steamer at Fleetwood, Mr. Williamson unfortunately received a severe wetting, and on his arrival in London was attacked by illness, which rapidly assumed the form of acute bronchitis, and caused his death within a week.
