IAN NORMAN MURRAY was associated with the electrical side of mechanical engineering throughout his career. IAN NORMAN MURRAY was associated with the electrical side of mechanical engineering throughout his career. He was born in 1900 and received his education at Glasgow University, where he graduated B.Sc., in engineering. After serving his apprenticeship with Messrs. Barr and Stroud, Ltd., he held a short appointment as junior engineer in the tramways department of Glasgow Corporation. Subsequently he was appointed assistant to the chief engineer at the generating station of the Ealing Borough Council, a position which he held until 1927.
