"JAMES BURTON LUCKETT was associated with the Ordnance Factories at the Royal Arsenal, Woolwich, during nearly the whole of his professional career. He received his technical education at the Woolwich Polytechnic and served his apprenticeship in the Factories from 1895 to 1901. On the completion of a three years' engagement as erector for the [[Langdon Davis Electric Motor Co]] he returned to the Royal Arsenal and was successively in charge of a cartridge and fuse filling factory. He then became a supervising technical assistant to the manager of filling factories, and subsequently was engaged upon the planning and layout of the site for a factory. In addition he supervised the installation of the plant and fittings. In 1916 he was appointed an assistant manager, and in the following year was promoted to be a manager in the Royal Filling Factories, Woolwich, a position he retained until his retirement in 1939. Mr. Luckett, whose death, in his seventy-first year, occurred on 11th June 1950, was elected to Associate Membership in 1917." | |||

"JAMES BURTON LUCKETT was associated with the Ordnance Factories at the Royal Arsenal, Woolwich, during nearly the whole of his professional career.
