1872 Concerning his estate. '...all creditors and other persons having any claims upon the estate of John Powis, deceased, late of 2A, Pall Mall, in the county of Middlesex, Esquire, formerly a Partner in the firm of Powis, James, and Co., of Victoria Works, Belvedere-road, Lambeth, in the county of Surrey, Engineers (who died on the 15th day of September, 1871, and to whose estate letters of administration were granted by the Principal Registry of Her Majesty's Court of Probate, on the 15th day of January, 1872, to Thomas Gitton Powis, Benjamin Powis, and Charles Powis), are hereby required to send particulars of their claim...'[4]
