1805 Advert: 'To GUN-MAKERS, &c.

On the Premises, CASTLE-ALLEY, opposite the Swan Inn, Whitechapel, on FRIDAY, August 30, at Eleven precisely, on account of the number of lots, by order of the Executors of Mr. Henry Knock, deceased, Gun-maker to the Board of Ordnance, THE very expensite Iron Boring Benches, with mill-work apportioning thereto ; a capital triangular bar, turning lathe, 9 feet 2 inches long, a less ditto; grinding-stones, a pair of 7-inch cast steel flatting-rolls, with iron frame and apparatus, benches, vices, anvils, two forges, forge bellows, and quantity of gunsmith's tools, together with the unfinished Stock, which consists of filed and forged limbs of musket locks, curious patterns, cannon lock, forging and patterns; sets of military barrels, musket stocks and locks, finished, with bayonets, large quantity old iron, walnut-tree, in plank ; about 1500 gunstocks, and various other articles.
May be viewed on Wednesday and Thursday preceding the sale, when Catalogues may be had on the Premises, and of Messrs. Winstanley and Son, Paternoster-row.' [1]
