1760 Born the son of William, a millwright, the eldest of four children. 1782 Married Ann Davies of Eardington
 
c.1792 [[Hazledine and Rastrick|Hazeldine and Co]] was set up in Bridgnorth by three brothers of the Hazeldine family — John, Robert and Thomas. The ironworks was located on a 0.8ha site between the east bank of the River Severn north of the bridge and Mill Street.
 
1795 Managing engineer of the Bridgnorth Foundry, where his two brothers also worked.
 
1797 John was declared bankrupt
 
1798 He took out a patent on an improved mill for rolling iron and other metals into bars
 
c.1807 [[John Urpeth Rastrick]] partnered with John Hazledine, in Bridgnorth, Shropshire to trade as [[Hazledine and Rastrick‎]].
 
1810 Hazledine died in October.
