- 1849 Founded by Thomas Comstive (1829-86)[1]
- 1854 Thomas Comstive of Burnley, shuttle maker. Patent: improvements in the shuttles for weaving[2]
- 1868 All debts owed by James Ingham, shuttle maker (deceased) will be paid by Thomas Comstive[3]
- 1874 Thomas Comstive appointed to board of directors of Cooper Brothers and Company Ltd.,[4]
- 1880 Thomas and Joseph Comstive of Burnley. Patent: improvements in the shuttles for looms[5]
- 1886 Death of Thomas Comstive, 6 June.[6]
- 1888 Moved from Canal Street to Hammerton Street Shuttle Works, Burnley. 'Manufacturers of shuttles, picking stickes &c.'[7]
- 1892 Hammerton Street Shuttle Works destroyed by fire[8]
- 1893 New factory at Calder Vale Shuttle Works, Burnley.[9]
- 1909 Became a limited company, with Thomas Comstive's four sons, Thomas, William, Louis and Arthur appointed as its directors. New premises on Caldervale Road[10]
- 1929 Moved to Bristol Mill, Caldervale Road.[11]
- 1949 Managing Director: Walter Comstive, son of William Comstive and grandson of Thomas Comstive I.[12]
- 1955 Company liquidated, 23 May [13]
