DAIMLER STRAIGHT EIGHT
The Daimler Straight Eight is among the most luxurious and comfortable cars available today. It is supplied with bodywork by a number of noted specialist coach building firms, such as Hooper, Freestone and Webb, Windover and Barker.
The model illustrated here is by Hooper and is an eight-seater. There is an electrically-operated division window between the driving seat and the rear compartment, which accommodates three on the main seat and has two folding occasional seats. The bench-type forward seat can hold three persons.
It is claimed that the Straight Eight chassis offers greater body space than any other comparable chassis — a fact often concealed by the art of the coachbuilder. There is no doubt that the saloons and limousines built on the Straight Eight chassis are some of the largest in the world.
