John Prentice (1847-1925) of Boyd and Co (of Shanghai)

Born in 1847 in Beattock, Scotland

Moved to Shanghai to work for Muir & Co which was later absorbed by Boyd & Co. He went on to work his way up to become their Managing Director and when they became Shanghai Dock and Engineering Co, he was their controlling interesting and principal.[1]

He was also the Chairman of the Shanghai Municipal Council 1901 – 1902.[2]

1925 Died and was buried in Bubbling Well Cemetery.[3]
