1895 James R. Crompton, Ralph Crompton and Percy R. Crompton.
1898 Incorporated as a limited company.
1914 Paper manufacturers. Specialities: fine quality white and coloured tissues, copyings, thin India papers and other high-grade thin papers, crêpe paper ("Dancing Girl" and "Eltonbury" brands), waxed tissues, thick waxed papers, thin typewriting, banks, toilet and serviette papers. [1]
1937 Paper manufacturers (special for air mail). "Wing Mail Bank" Air Mail Paper. [2]
1990 Portals acquired Bunzl's Crompton subsidiary[4] which produced paper for tea bags and sausage casings from factories in Lancashire and Gloucester.
1995 Management buy-out from Thomas De La Rue and Co[5]
