1872 The company was founded on July 10th, and owns tramways in Plymouth and Great Grimsby, and omnibuses in Cardiff. The company also owns the Portsdown and Horndean Light Railway and the Gosport and Fareham Tramways. The company has also power to supply electric energy for power and lighting in the districts of Gosport and Alverstoke. [1]
Bought General Tramways.
1897 Bought Andrews Buses of Cardiff and Portsmouth.
1901 Portsmouth Corporation bought the Portsmouth tramways and would electrify it[2]
1907 Raised additional capital and at that time the directors were Andrew Beattie (Chairman), Joseph Barber Glenn (MD), Samuel Hern and Alfred William White. They owned the following: [3]

- Plymouth, Stonehouse and Devonport Tramways
- Portsmouth Street Tramways
- Gosport and Alverstoke Electric Lighting Co
- Hamphire Light Railway (Electric) Co
