CHARLES SPENCER died at his residence, Cleveland View, Newport Hill, Middlesbrough, on May 23, 1905, in his sixtieth year. He was a native of South Wales, and was, at one time, managing engineer to the Ebbw Vale Ironworks.
In 1871 he was appointed manager of the Malleable Ironworks, Stockton, and subsequently became manager of the West Stockton Ironworks.
In 1898 he was appointed chief engineer at the works of Messrs. John Hill & Co., at Middlesbrough.
He was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1889.
