Early aviator

Flying Officer William Robert McCleery, A.F.M., entered the Royal Flying Corps 1.12.1913.

Awarded Royal Aero Club Aviator’s Certificate No. 4971, 12.7.1917, as 1st Class Air Mechanic; promoted Sergeant 15.8.1917; wounded February 1918; awarded French Croix de Guerre 17.8.1918. Commissioned Flying Officer 8.1.1937.
