Habermel was a renowned and prolific scientific instrument maker. Little is known about his background, but he may have come from Nuremberg. He was working in Prague from 1585 onwards, producing a wide range of mathematical and astronomical instruments. In 1593 he was appointed as instrument maker to Emperor Rudolf II in Prague. Erasmus Habermel (or Habermehl), c.1538 - 15 November 1606.[1]
Habermel was a renowned and prolific scientific instrument maker. Little is known about his background, but he may have come from Nuremberg. He was working in Prague from 1585 onwards, producing a wide range of mathematical and astronomical instruments. In 1593 he was appointed as instrument maker to Emperor Rudolf II in Prague.
