1918 International Western Electric Company Inc. was formed
1925 Changed its name in January to International Standard Electric Corporation.
1925 The U.S. government put pressure on the AT&T to divest its overseas operations, which included International Western Electric Company, a European-based manufacturer of telephonic equipment.
1925 Western Electric’s international operations, International Western Electric Company, were purchased by the infant ITT Corporation. The International Western Electric Co had factories in Woolwich, Antwerp, Paris and elsewhere in Europe[1]
1925 The name of the International Western-Electric Co was changed to Standard Telephones and Cables.
By 1930 the name of the company had been changed to International Standard Electric Corporation[2]
