1960 [[AEI]] reorganised its 3 main subsidiaries into divisions<ref>The Times Apr 22, 1960</ref>, one of which specialized in motor and control gear.
Both of the main constituent companies made electric motors in a range of sizes:

This is a subsection of AEI

Both of the main constituent companies made electric motors in a range of sizes:

1960 AEI established the Motor and Control Gear Division[1]

1967 GEC acquired AEI. Small motors had been produced at factories in Coventry, Blackheath/Birmingham, Newcastle under Lyme and Thorne/Doncaster. These were taken into GEC Light Industrial Products where they were associated with the Woods fan business[2]
