c.1880 Company established for purpose of testing Mekarski's compressed air engines in England and, if satisfactory, obtaining rights to the patents[1]

Purchased 2 locomotives fitted with these engines from France for a trial on the Wantage Tramway; handled all of the traffic on the passenger tramway for 3 months.

1881 Promoted a new company Mekarski Compressed Air Traction Co Ltd to obtain the patents and work the system
